Cross Counter, Inc. (CCI) provides quality residential facilities and services to urban youth (ages 12 – 18) in urgent need of care due to abandonment, abuse or neglect.
Tillmes House provides residential treatment services to young women, and St. Timothy’s House is available for young men. The residences seek to provide young people with as “normal” a living arrangement as possible. Our young adults and teenagers receive the emotional, educational, spiritual and life-skills support necessary to become self-sufficient and productive members of society.

Children are encouraged to develop realistic goals, use proper social skills and develop meaningful educational and cultural experiences.

CCI promotes family reunification, and staff and volunteers assist the teens in identifying positive alternatives when family reunions are not possible.
Program participants are referred by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS).

Services provided by CCI include:

• Individual and group counseling sessions for all residents
• Access to off-site counseling sessions for all residents
• Development of interpersonal and self-management skills required to live independently and to become responsible contributing members of their communities, including:
  • Coordinated case management
  • Life skills development
  • Career exploration
  • Academic enhancement
  • Sports and recreation activities
