Teaching Children Peace and Community Service

PCCI’s Peace Camp serves 200 area children in Newark and Elizabeth each summer for the unique experience of understanding and modeling peace.  Through Creative Conflict Resolution techniques, children learn how to resolve arguments and develop “win/win solutions”, while also enjoying traditional day camp activities such as arts and crafts, field trips, swimming and other recreational activities.  

Campers’ parents report that their child’s newly acquired leadership skills that allow them to positively influence peers. Children also benefit from participation in community service projects, enabling them not only to serve the community, but to consider issues and develop, plan and execute service projects.
